Andrew Alan Johnson

Born in St Helens, Merseyside in 1973, Andrew has been drawing and painting since he can remember. He won several art competitions with his art as a youngster. At twenty three he gained a Bachelor of Design Degree from Duncan of Jordanstone college of art and  his career headed in the graphic design and illustration direction for a long time.

Eventually unfulfilled and disillusioned with the world of graphics and following two redundancies, Andrew took to his art again after a gap of many years. He says "I am very fulfilled in my work and find inspiration in nature. I enjoy the energy of the world around us and try to reflect this through bright florals and uplifting landscapes, which all  reflect my strong inherent sense of colour use and enjoyment of using thick paint" He is inspired particularly by the wildflowers and trees around us and has a unique way of reflecting their intricate design and energy onto the canvas. An exciting, Northern artist to watch!
