Liz has been painting for as long as she can remember; it was always her burning desire to go to art school, an ambition fulfilled by a four year course in Manchester. She was married at 19 and blessed with 4 children yet still found time for a job and was a teacher at Pownall School, where she held the position of head of art for approximately 8 years.
The Welsh landscape provided much inspiration during the time she made her home there and the treasures found from beach combing would inspire her and often found their way into her artworks. Her work would often grace the walls of coastal bistros, cafes and restaurants in places such as Abersoch and across North Wales, where she often could not work quickly enough to satisfy growing demand.
Liz begins her work by using chalk to mark out the image, she then uses acrylics to paint in detail and then adds black ink before applying a final layer of acrylics over this.
